Being a Year 7 student in Bayview marks an important transition into secondary learning, where students begin to develop independence, confidence, and a strong sense of identity.

Within a supportive environment, students learn to manage their studies across multiple subjects, build critical thinking and collaboration skills, and take increasing responsibility for their learning.

Through the Mentor program and a wide range of cocurricular opportunities, students form meaningful connections while embracing new challenges, setting the foundation for success in the years ahead.

Year 7 Learning Journey 1: Shoreham

  • Activities: Surfing, high ropes, team building, snorkelling, swimming with seals/dolphins

Year 7 Learning Journey 2: Central Australia

Our preferred itinerary for the Central Australia Learning Journey is to spend two nights in Lilla Community followed by two nights at the Yulara Campground.

While this is always our intended schedule, travel in remote Australia can occasionally be affected by factors outside our control, including cultural events within the community, weather conditions, flight delays, or other logistical considerations. In these circumstances, it may be necessary to adjust the itinerary.

A common alternative arrangement is to spend one night in Yulara on arrival, followed by two nights in Lilla Community, before returning to Yulara for the final night. Any changes made will be carefully planned to ensure students continue to enjoy a safe, meaningful, and enriching learning experience.

Sport Program

Saturday sport is compulsory for all students in Years 7 – 12.

Boys compete in the Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria (AGSV) competition and girls in the combined AGSV/Associated Public Schools (APS) competition in both Summer and Winter sports. In addition, the School offers an optional Spring season of Athletics and Water Polo, as well as other non-compulsory sports including aerobics, snow sports and surfing.

Uniform, Appearance Guidelines & Lost Property

We appreciate the support of our parents in upholding high standards of presentation for our students both in terms of the uniform and personal grooming, as a reflection of the discipline and respect bestowed on their education.
