WWCC/PASSTAB & CHILD SAFETY REPORTING

Parent involvement in school programs, particularly in younger years, is a wonderful way to be involved.

To volunteer in any capacity at the School, you must have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) (volunteer) and have completed Mentone Grammar’s Volunteer Induction.

ELC Volunteers

In order to streamline our School processes, parents/carers of students in the ELC will automatically receive a Mentone Grammar Passtab invitation to volunteer:

Once your profile is complete, a unique QUICKPIN will be assigned to you, which you can use when signing in at the ELC Foyer (or any other reception points around the School).

Please advise the ELC Campus PA, Deb Kenner, if you are not planning on volunteering:

You will also need a WWCC, which can be obtained for free online:

Passtab Profiles for all Volunteers

In order to create a Passtab profile for any volunteering at the School, you will need to provide your details to the relevant Campus, that includes:

  • First name
  • Surname
  • Email address

A profile will then be created on our volunteer management system – Passtab – and you will receive an email on how you can complete the compliance requirements online.

A unique QUICKPIN will be assigned to you, which you can use when signing in at any of our Reception points – Main Reception, ELC Foyer, Creativity Center or Junior School Admin Office.

National Child Safety Training: ELC Parents/Carers Must Complete

As part of the National Child Safety Reform Initiative all ELC volunteers (this includes parents/carers and grandparents, etc.)  are required to complete the National Child Safety Training.

The training is free and must be completed by 27 August 2026 to be able to volunteer in the ELC.

How to access the National Child Safety training (also known as Foundation Training)

  • Training must be completed in Geccko, the Australian Government’s official training platform.
    • As this is an externally run training program, any queries must be directed to the website directly.
  • Login to Geccko:
  • You must complete both courses to complete foundation training.
    • It is estimated to take approximately 2 hours to complete, although this will vary from learner to learner.
  • You must provide your completed certificates to Deb Kenner via email:

NOTE: this training must be completed in addition to our School specific child safety training and must be completed every 2 years to continue volunteering in the ELC.

Protecting the Young People in our Care

At Mentone Grammar we are committed to protecting our students from all aspects of harm by creating and maintaining a student safe culture.

We take a zero-tolerance approach to any behaviours that jeopardise student safety and wellbeing as all students deserve to learn in a calm and focused environment where they feel safe.

The School has established strategies, practices, policies and procedures in order to comply with Ministerial Order 1359 and to embed a culture of child safety within the School.
