Being a Year 8 student in Bayview means being the leaders of the campus. They further develop their independence, confidence, and leadership skills.

Within a supportive environment, students learn to manage their studies with a greater focus on academic rigor, building critical thinking and taking increasing responsibility for their learning.

Through the Mentor program and a wide range of cocurricular opportunities, students form meaningful connections while embracing new challenges, setting the foundation for success in the years ahead.

Sport & SMART Program

Saturday sport is compulsory for all students in Years 7 – 12.

Boys compete in the Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria (AGSV) competition and girls in the combined AGSV/Associated Public Schools (APS) competition in both Summer and Winter sports. In addition, the School offers an optional Spring season of Athletics and Water Polo, as well as other non-compulsory sports including aerobics, snow sports and surfing.

In Year 8, students have the option to participate annually in one season of a cocurricular pursuit through the SMART program in lieu of a Saturday sport. The SMART Program is designed to enable students to discover and cultivate their cocurricular talents, under the guidance of specialist facilitators. Courses within SMART are determined by the interests of students and made available to students based on that interest.

Uniform, Appearance Guidelines & Lost Property

We appreciate the support of our parents in upholding high standards of presentation for our students both in terms of the uniform and personal grooming, as a reflection of the discipline and respect bestowed on their education.

Thanks to a partnership between Linewize and Mentone Grammar, our Bayview students participate in an extensive online safety program.
