CAFÉ & BARISTA PROGRAM
As part of our dynamic Year 9 program, our students take part in a rotation to run the Greenways Café.
The program includes food preparation and barista training, marketing and sales, financial management and customer service.
Year 9 students can also enjoy the Greenways Café at Recess and Lunch (details below).
In preparation for this, students are required to complete the following courses delivered by external providers engaged by the School:
- Food Handling and Hygiene Course
- Accredited Barista Certificate
Both of these are recognised programs and will help support the first steps into the world of employment if students are looking for roles in the hospitality sector.
Students will also need to obtain a USI (Unique Student Identifier)
This is an Australian Government personal education number required for all nationally recognised study, including university and vocational education and training (VET).
- Our external program partners require a USI to be able to generate a certificate of completion for the courses above.
- Made up of 10 letters and numbers, the USI is free and stays with each person for life.
